In the midst of the deadly famine of the early 1930s in the Kazakh Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (ASSR), a lone gravedigger is given a dangerous mission: deliver a critical letter to a distant city in a desperate bid to save lives. Haunted by hunger and the weight of death, his journey becomes even more perilous when he encounters a mysterious stranger who offers to show him a path. But as the gravedigger ventures deeper into the unknown, he must decide if this stranger can be trusted or if he's leading him to his doom. A gripping tale of survival, trust, and human endurance.
