A Silent Christmas

From 1889, when they began, to 1929, all moving pictures were silent. Hollywood was still an active place however, turning out thousands of feature length and short films. Presented for your enjoyment are twelve of the earliest examples of silent Christmas films, created during the period from 1898 to 1915. Included are the first filmed versions of "A Christmas Carol" and "The Night Before Christmas," as well as some unique Holiday experiences, all of which are considered historically and culturally significant.
